Michael Casey is the division director of technology services for the Gwinnett County Public Library in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is author of the blog LibraryCrunch and co-authors the Library Journal column The Transparent Library with Michael Stephens. Michael has given numerous presentations on Library 2.0 and has participated in several web seminars and podcasts on the topic. Michael was also selected as a 2007 Mover & Shaker by Library Journal. Michael holds an MA in political science from Penn State, an MLS from Southern Connecticut State, and a BA in political science and history from Duquesne University. Originally from Pennsylvania, Michael resides in Georgia with his family.
Laura Savastinuk is an assistant branch manager with the Gwinnett County Public Library in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She is also the secretary/treasurer of North Georgia Associated Libraries. Laura holds an MSLIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BS in History, Technology, and Society from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She resides in Georgia with her husband Paul and son George.
In addition to the book Library 2.0: A Guide to Participatory Library Service, Casey and Savastinuk also co-authored the September 1, 2006 Library Journal article, Library 2.0: Service for the Next-Generation Library.
